Dr. Stephanie Walton is a board
certified Pediatrician and member of the American
Academy of Pediatrics. She is a native of Sacramento,
daughter of Dr. Vernon L. Walton the founder who started
the practice in the 1960's. Dr. Stephanie Walton joined
the practice in 1998 and serves as the Medical Director
of Walton Pediatrics and Medical Associates.
Dr. Walton attended Mills College in Oakland California
and received a Bachelor's degree in Biology. She then
went on to receive her medical degree from Howard
University College of Medicine in Washington DC. She
completed her Pediatric Residency there as well. After
Residency she stayed on as an Attending Physician and
Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and
Child Health. She served as the director of Ambulatory
Pediatrics for two years before going on to complete
additional training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at
the Children's Hospital in Oakland California. Dr.
Walton has extensive experience in the area of Pediatric
urgent and emergency care. She has served as an
Attending Physician in the emergency departments of
Oakland and Los Angeles Children's hospitals.
Dr. Walton loves to travel. Her hobbies include
swimming, scuba diving and gardening. She is an
accomplished cook who is often found cooking with chefs
in a local restaurant. She loves animals and helps to
care for a colony of homeless cats.
Her interests in pediatrics includes preventative
health, newborn care as well as urgent and emergent
care. Dr. Walton is passionate about the care of
under-served pediatric patient populations. It is very
important to her that children are cared for in a
competent, caring and non-judgmental fashion. Dr. Walton
is part of the medical staff at Sutter Medical Center.
She serves as volunteer Clinical Faculty for the
University California Davis College of Medicine. She is
an Assistant Professor for the College of Medicine at
California NorthState University. She enjoys teaching
medical students and also serves on the board and
committees of several local medical groups
